Living in today's world can cause stress and mental exhaustion.
We have more opportunities and more obligations, more information and at the same time more stress.
At the time I am writing this page the Covid-19 or Coronavirus has engulfed the planet into a global health crisis.
This virus has forced us to isolate ourselves from one another.
Many people are afraid, many others are inconvenienced, still others are cautious and patiently waiting for it to subside.
What better time than now to slow down, stop and reflect about what is happening to us.... or rather.... what we may be causing.
It is a great time to slow down look at what we are doing to help ourselves... and make a change.
It is a great time to reduce the mental exhaustion.
So, take a step back and catch your breath.
Concentrate on what you should concentrate on and leave the rest alone.
Here's a tip: Concentrate and really listen to what you need to and discard the rest.
Has a friend every said something like "I'm coming to meet you and I'll be wearing a red shirt ?"
You did what we all do, you began looking for a person wearing a red shirt. It makes sense doesn't it ?
You began looking for red shirts.....not blue shirts, nor black, nor green, nor any other color other than red.
After scanning the area and identifying several red shirts you eventually locate your friend.
This is what I am talking about. Identify what your target is and ignore the rest.
So why then do you claim to want something in your life story and you constantly look elsewhere ?
Listen to what is relevant.
As a former law enforcement officer I had to teach myself to listen, Not to just hear what I wanted but to really listen.
The 1950's television show "Dragnet" boasted of a police detective who was fond of saying "Just the facts."
He only wanted to know what was pertinent to the hard evidence of the case.
This, however, would put him at a serious disadvantage in today's society.
Maybe it worked in the 1950's but it certainly wouldn't work today. The fictional character would miss the little quirks and nuances of aggravation, fright, restlessness, or agitation.
He would miss the purposeful oversight of certain clues.
He would miss what is not being said.
He would miss the positioning of the words, he would miss the underlying theme to the whole debacle.
In short, he would not listen to what ALL the clues were telling him !
By listening to everything that is not relevant you are willingly accepting everything......social media.....news...friends....family... or something that just casually catches your attention.
These in and of themselves are assets when in their proper time and space. However, when consumed without question or just to pass the time they can subtract from your focus.
You will learn later, on this website, that your subconscious mind collects EVERYTHING, whether your conscious mind remembers it or not.
Ignore the distractions.
